Matilda JR
Ages 8-18
Be a part of the cast of Matilda Jr. the musical!
During this two week intensive, students will immerse themselves in the musical theater experience through work on music, acting techniques, and choreography culminating in a fully staged performance! Your children will work with a team of teachers to create a community of inclusion, empathy, respect and creativity. Every child shines at Bristol Academy of Music!
Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, Matilda JR. is a joyous girl power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.
Camp details:
DATES: July 15-27, Monday - Friday: 9am-3pm
Performances July 26th @ 7pm & July 27th @ 2pm and 7pm
Rehearsals and performances will take place in the Virginia Highlands Community College Theater.
COST: $350

BIG Arts Camp:
Summer Olympics
Grades K-5
Go for GOLD! Explore instruments, sing karaoke, make crafts, and more all while earning points towards a team gold!! Students will learn about music and customs from countries around the world and participate in challenges to earn points for their ‘country’!
Camp details:
HALF day (9am-12pm) or FULL day (9-3pm)
June 10-14: Grades K-5
July 8-12: Grades K-5
July 15-19: Grades K-5
July 22-26: Grades K-5
Full Day Cost: $250
Half Day Cost: $175

Rock Band Camp
Grades 4-8
Students will create a band name and learn popular songs on various instruments throughout the week including guitar, drums, keyboard, and singing. No prior instrumental experience is necessary.

June 17-21: 9am-12pm

Vocal Arts Camp
Ages 8-18
Students who love to sing will participate in a variety of musical opportunities including
solo singing
group singing
healthy vocal techniques
stage presence/presentation
This camp will culminate in a final concert TBA.
